Most dining chairs define themselves by what they contain. Volta defines itself by what it removes. The T-shaped cutout at the centre of the backrest is the chair's entire statement: a deliberate gap that divides the back into two upholstered wings, each one more present for the absence between them. The all-over bouclé , covering legs, frame, seat, and back in a single uninterrupted surface , makes the cutout read as something carved rather than constructed. In Green, the chair arrives as the room's most considered piece of living colour. In Camel, as warmth so complete it needs no explanation. Volta does not fit quietly into a dining room. It becomes the reason the room exists.
