The construction begins at the centre. Every pleat of fabric radiates outward from a single gather point, the same principle as a couture gown, applied to light. The result is a disc of extraordinary evenness, the fabric taut at the rim, soft at the crown, and luminous across its entire face when the light within it warms the weave from below.
The light does not project downward from the Aurelion. It emanates, diffusing through the fabric in a wide, even pool that fills the room below with the kind of warmth that seems to have no source. Against the wall, a soft halo spreads outward from the rim. Above, the ceiling is kissed rather than lit. The overall effect is of afternoon light through a canopy of fine linen, present everywhere, harsh nowhere.
