Most sofas settle low, the way most furniture does, content to meet the floor and stay there. This one doesn't. Each section rises on its own plinth, lifted just enough that a gap of shadow runs beneath it, the whole piece reading as raised rather than resting. The bouclé is woven and finished by hand in the workshops of Jodhpur, a pale, undyed ivory with a soft, looped texture that catches light unevenly across its surface. A deep groove runs along the seat front, the one line that breaks an otherwise unbroken plane. Seen against a poured-concrete floor or a plain plaster wall, its lifted form reads as structure first, comfort second. In a Chelsea garden room, or a Richmond space built around light, it holds itself slightly above the room rather than settling into it.
