When the Aurelin is lit, the room it hangs in becomes part of the light. The woven mesh, every loop hand-formed, every tier hand-built, allows light to escape in all directions at once, projecting its pattern onto the ceiling above and the walls around it in a shifting, textured composition that no smooth shade can replicate.
The form is tiered, three stepped levels rising to a peak that references pagoda architecture and hand-craft traditions in the same breath. Each tier is slightly wider than the one above, the whole structure tapering from a broad flared base to a tight apex. The mesh is open enough to be seen through, closed enough to give the pendant weight and presence. From a distance, a sculptural object of considerable authority. Up close, a surface of extraordinary craft detail, each woven loop visible, each one part of a pattern that took many hours to complete.
The effect when lit is unlike any other pendant in the range. The light source at the centre is fully visible, a deliberate choice that makes the bulb part of the composition rather than something to be hidden. Around it, the mesh glows. Beyond it, the wall becomes a canvas of dappled warmth that shifts as the eye moves and changes with every hour of the day.
Available in two finishes, Natural, which brings warmth and an almost golden quality in light, and Dark, which reads as near-black in the room and creates a moodier, more architectural effect.
