Loch Lomond's surface rarely stays one continuous colour for long, wind breaks it into patches of deep teal and pale silver that shift position from one minute to the next, no patch quite the same shape as the one before it. This rug holds that same fractured surface: fine diagonal hatching in deep blue-teal against bone, the lines gathering densest where the water would run darkest, thinning out where the light would catch it. Hand-tufted by the weavers of Jaipur, the wool carries the diagonal lines in low relief, the patchy density built from line concentration rather than block colour. Beneath a Georgian cornice or bare concrete, the contrast holds its movement at any distance. In a Notting Hill study, it keeps something of that restless, broken water indoors.
