Dining chairs ask to be pulled in and pushed away a hundred times. Crest asks to be neither , it asks to be arrived at and remained in. Its form is the collection's most enveloping: a wide, open backrest that curves into two sweeping arms, the whole upholstered surface describing a continuous horseshoe of bouclé that wraps around the sitter from behind. Thick tapered legs carry the form with a grounded confidence that the drama of the back makes welcome rather than heavy. In White, the chair reads as sculpture. In Anthracite, as architecture.
