Cirque is the collection's most precise statement , a chair where the frame is the design and everything else exists in service of it. The tubular metal hoop describes armrests and backrest in a single unbroken line: no joint visible, no angle unresolved, the whole thing arriving with the clarity of a piece of jewellery rather than a piece of furniture. Within this ring, a narrow upholstered back panel and a generous padded seat offer the warmth the metal frame withholds , and the contrast between the two is exactly the point. In Light Maroon, the frame carries warmth; in Grey, it carries authority. Both are entirely correct.
