Two fabrics, one shade. Smooth ivory and rough-woven natural, alternating panel by panel around a 60cm drum, the contrast between them visible before the light comes on and revelatory once it does. The Cavelle Rib is the pendant for rooms that understand texture as well as they understand colour.
The panel rhythm is the Cavelle's defining quality. Smooth ivory panels sit beside golden woven ones, the difference in texture creating a visual alternation that gives the shade life and depth even in full daylight. When lit, the two fabrics respond differently to the light within: the smooth panels diffuse evenly, the woven ones catch and hold the warmth in their weave, creating a glow that is richer and more complex than any single fabric could produce alone.
The hem is scalloped all the way around, at 60cm diameter a substantial and generous finishing detail, each scallop following the line between panels with the logic of something that could not have been designed any other way. The dark cord canopy at the ceiling and the black hanging wire are deliberately minimal, nothing above the shade should compete with the shade itself.
Wide and low at only 27cm height, the Cavelle sits in a room like a hat brim, generous in its spread, unhurried in its proportion, filling the ceiling above a dining table or living room with a warmth that feels natural rather than designed. The pendant for spaces that want the honest quality of handmade cloth overhead, and the considered detail that tells you it was not made carelessly.
