There are fields in southern Spain where poppies rise from dry, contoured earth with a confidence that is almost architectural , coral and blush against the ochre and umber of the land beneath. The Amapola rug holds that same extraordinary tension. Oversized blooms in warm coral and soft blush rise from a field of deeply contoured topographic lines , the flowers lush and fully open, the ground beneath them ancient and considered. Woven in wool of exceptional depth, the contrast between botanical abundance above and geological patience below gives the piece a quality that is at once alive and grounded.
